The Greens — Byzantine Chariot Racing T-Shirt

The opposition. The rivalry. The occasional overthrow attempt.

In Byzantine Constantinople, the Greens weren't simply a racing team. They were one of the city's great chariot racing factions, with fiercely loyal supporters and a long-running rivalry with the Blues.

At the Hippodrome, thousands gathered to watch teams race four-horse chariots around the track. The competition was intense, the crowds were vocal, and the distinction between sporting loyalty and political allegiance wasn't always particularly clear.

In AD 532, the Greens and Blues did something extraordinary: they set aside their rivalry and united against Emperor Justinian I during the Nika revolt. The uprising nearly cost the emperor his throne.

This vintage-inspired racing crest pays tribute to the Greens — the faction that proved being on the opposing side was practically a civic responsibility.

Back the Greens. Never trust a Blue.

Our suppliers provide the measurements. There might be a variation of up to 2 inches (5 cm) in the product measurements.

A useful tip is to compare these measurements with those of a product you have at home.

A Length

Begin at the collar's edge at the top of the t-shirt (the highest shoulder point) and extend the tape to the shirt's bottom.

B Width

Start the tape at the seam just below one sleeve and stretch it across to the seam below the other sleeve.
