In 1876, someone in Belgium decided cats should deliver the mail.

Not figuratively. Actual cats. Carrying actual correspondence.

The Belgian Society for the Elevation of the Domestic Cat believed that feline homing instincts could be put to productive use in the postal service.

Unfortunately, the cats had not been consulted.

The experiment in Liège proved rather less successful than its organisers had hoped. The proposed postal workers demonstrated a familiar combination of independence, indifference and complete disregard for delivery schedules.

Our vintage-inspired Postal Cat T-shirt commemorates one of history’s more ambitious attempts to turn an animal famous for doing exactly as it pleases into a reliable public servant.

A Length

Begin at the collar's edge at the top of the t-shirt (the highest shoulder point) and extend the tape to the shirt's bottom.
